Free planning tool

Compare the work.
Then the price.

Compare two website quotes by scope and known costs. See what is included, what is missing and what to clarify before you commit.

No email required. This tool does not save your entries. Use Clear entries when you are finished. This page uses the site’s standard analytics, but your quote entries are not sent to WTM.

Compare two quotes

Put both quotes on the same terms.

Use the written proposals. Leave an item as “Not stated” until the agency confirms it. This tool does not score agencies or estimate your project price.

The period is a planning choice, not a contract term. Include only costs due within it. Enter 0 for a fee only when you know it does not apply.

Quote ACost incomplete

8 scope items to clarify.

Quote BCost incomplete

8 scope items to clarify.

Known cost = build fee + monthly cost × months + other entered costs. It excludes anything you have not entered, including any unquoted taxes, usage charges or future changes.

What does each proposal actually include?

Page types and location pages

Name the unique page layouts and offices. Page count alone does not describe the work.

Content and image work

Who writes, migrates and approves the words, images and service information?

SEO and URL migration

Ask for a URL inventory, relevant redirect map, indexing checks and a named launch owner.

Forms, booking and integrations

List the systems involved and who proves each inquiry reaches the correct team.

CMS and editing access

Name what your team can edit and who supplies training, accounts and documentation.

Ownership and handoff

Confirm control of the domain, source files, data, analytics and platform accounts.

Mobile and launch testing

Agree which customer journeys, browsers and devices will be tested and how issues are recorded.

Support and ongoing costs

Separate defect support, content updates, new features, hosting and third-party fees.

Ask about the gaps.

A lower price can be right when the scope is smaller and still meets your needs. A higher price needs a clear explanation of the additional work. An item marked “not needed” should reflect your project, not an omission hidden in the quote.

Ask each agency: “Can you confirm what is included, what would cost extra, who owns the accounts and what happens if something breaks after launch?” Get the answer in writing before committing.

For a dental group, compare shared work separately from each location’s content, booking route and migration. Plan a multi-location dental website.

For a redesign, bring your existing URLs and search baseline. Use the website redesign SEO checklist and migration worksheet.

For an app, this website worksheet is only a starting point. Add user roles, workflows, data, platform requirements and release responsibilities. Compare websites, web apps and mobile apps.
