What does a monthly dental
website fee include?

Usually some mix of hosting, a platform, edits and support, and sometimes marketing. The fee alone does not tell you who owns the site or what happens if you stop paying. Ask both in writing.

Monthly plans differ by vendor. Confirm every point in writing with any vendor, including us.

The short answer

Know what each payment buys.

Two fees of the same size can buy very different work. Before you compare prices, ask what each payment buys after launch, who owns the site and what you keep if you leave.

This is WTM’s view as a custom website studio. We do not name or review any vendor. Confirm each point in writing with any vendor.

A 9-location dental group · Group-reported results

A real group.
Two measured months.

18+new patients in month one.

We built a new website, location pages and online booking for a dental group with 9 locations, through our Patient Growth System. In month two, new patients ran 17% above the group’s usual monthly growth. We cannot share the group’s name.

Group-reported counts. This does not prove the website alone caused the increase, and it does not predict another practice’s results.

What does a monthly dental website fee usually cover?

It depends on the vendor. The fee might cover hosting, a website platform, content edits, maintenance, support or the build itself, spread across payments. Some plans also bundle marketing, such as SEO.

One fee may pay for hosting only. Another may pay for hosting, edits and search work. Ask the vendor to list what the fee buys after launch, item by item. For the general version of this guide, read monthly website subscription vs one-time build.

How is a one-time build different?

You pay for the build as one project. Ongoing services are agreed on their own, if you want them.

It does not mean no ongoing costs. Domains, hosting, paid integrations and future changes may still cost money. Ask which items sit outside the build quote.

To compare fairly, put both offers over the same period. Add the build, the recurring fees and the changes you expect. Use real quotes, not starting prices. Our free website quote comparison helps you line them up.

What should you ask before you sign?

Ask every vendor, including us. Get each answer in writing.

  • Who owns the site? Name the design, the code, the content, the photos and the domain one by one.
  • What happens if we stop paying? Does only support stop, or does the site go offline? Is a build balance due?
  • Who runs hosting? Whose account is it in? If we leave, can the site move?
  • What edits are included? Which kinds, and how fast? What costs extra?
  • What SEO work is done? If SEO is in the fee, what is done each month, and how will we see it?
  • Where does booking go? Where do appointment requests land, and who tests that they arrive? See our dental mobile booking study.
  • What are the exit terms? What are the setup fee, monthly fee, term and notice period? What can we export, and how fast is the domain released?

If a vendor does not know an answer, ask them to send it in writing. Do not sign on a guess.

When does a monthly plan fit your practice?

  • You want one vendor to run hosting and the system for an ongoing fee.
  • A ready layout covers what your practice needs.
  • A monthly fee fits your budget better than a one-time project.

Those are good reasons. Read the exit terms before you sign. See our platform or custom guide for one practice.

When does a one-time build fit your practice?

  • You want the finished site to belong to your practice.
  • You have several doctors, many services or more than one office.
  • Your current site already brings patients from search, and a move needs care. See how to redesign without losing SEO.
  • You would rather pay once for the build and choose ongoing services separately.

The trade is more work at the start: decisions, content and reviews. Running several offices? Read DSO website platform vs custom build.

What does a WTM dental build include?

WTM Studio designs and builds custom dental websites. Founder Ray Hussain leads every project. A build is planned around:

  • A design made for your practice. We start with a free homepage concept, so you see the direction before you commit.
  • A booking path. Agreed in scope once we see what your office uses.
  • Clear editing rules. Agreed before the build: what your team edits and what stays fixed.

Website redesigns typically cost $6,000 to $30,000 as a one-time project. New websites are quoted separately. We agree the scope and one flat quote. No required retainer. You own what we build. SEO and AI SEO are quoted separately. Read our pricing and engagement terms.

For a single practice example, see the Northside Dental case study. For practices and groups, see dental website design.

WTM Studio is based in Miramar, Florida, and builds nationwide.

Before you decide

A few good questions.

What does a monthly dental website fee usually include?

It depends on the vendor. A monthly fee may cover hosting, a platform, content edits, maintenance, support or a build spread across payments. Some plans also bundle marketing such as SEO. Ask for the full list in writing.

Do I own my dental website if I pay monthly?

Not always. Paying monthly does not settle ownership, and paying once does not either. Ask who owns the design, the code, the content and the domain. With WTM, you own everything we build.

What happens to my website if I stop paying the monthly fee?

Ask the vendor before you sign. Find out whether only support stops, whether the site stays online, whether a build balance is due and what notice applies. Get the answer in writing.

Does a one-time build have ongoing costs?

It can. Domains, hosting, paid integrations and future changes may still cost money after launch. Ask which items sit outside the build quote, and who pays for each one.

How is a WTM dental website priced?

WTM Studio website redesigns typically cost $6,000 to $30,000 as a one-time project. New websites are quoted separately. We start with a free homepage concept. Then we agree the scope and one flat quote. No required retainer. You own what we build. SEO and AI SEO are quoted separately.
